Ken Chee is an award-winning entrepreneur and a successful investor.

His mother left him when he was only 6 years old and he was brought up by his grandmother. He had been working since the age of 13 to support his family and finance his own education.

Ken started his career in the finance industry as a business consultant with a Swiss financial company, consulting on financial matters at the boardroom level. Thereafter, he left to start his own branding consultancy business, JM Asia Pte Ltd. JM Asia was started with only $9 in 2003 and generated more than $1,400,000 in revenue in less than 18 months, despite the recession at that time. Today, the group has 5 offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, New York and Shanghai. Customers include Fortune 500 companies.

Ken met his mentor in investing, Kevin Scully, in 2001. Kevin is a well known value investor who frequently appears in the media. Upon learning the ropes of value investing, modelled upon Warren Buffett’s investment style, Ken took the opportunity during the recession of 2003 and channelled his life savings into investing in just a few stocks picked from the thousands listed in Singapore in 2003. He exited during the peak of 2007. The returns generated was 41.2% per annum.

Ken currently runs a private investment company, 8 Investment Pte Ltd.

Ken was awarded the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award by the President of Singapore, Mr. S R Nathan himself in 2005. This annual award was given only to the top 40 Small and Medium Enterprises out of a total of 140,000 in Singapore for their outstanding achievements.

Ken is also passionate about educating the public. His two programs, Brand Mastery (www.brand-mastery.com) and the "Millionaire Investor Program" (www.millionaire-investor.com) has inspired more than 30,000 audiences to date.

Ken believes that being a businessman gives him the advantage of an investor, because it gives him the unique ability to assess companies from a businessman’s perspective.

Ken graduated from the State University in Australia, University of Queensland with a Merit degree in Business Management (International Marketing) in 1999 and a Diploma in Banking and Financial Services (Financial Trading) from Singapore Polytechnic in 1995. In 1994, at the age of 18 years old, he won Singapore’s first national trading competition, the SIMEX Challenge, beating 20,000 professional traders, making $960,000 paper profit from an initial capital of $1 million within 10 days.

Ken believes firmly in Love, Integrity and Abundance in life and his greatest dream is to set up a private foundation for under-privileged children, to be named after his late grandmother.

CLIVE TAN (Co-Trainer Millionaire Investor Program)

Clive Tan is a successful turnaround entrepreneur and a successful value investor.

Clive used to be an ordinary high school teacher drawing an ordinary working class salary. He invested in stocks using Warren Buffett’s investment principles while he was still working, and accumulated enough investment returns to start his first childcare business in just 5 years. Investments allowed him to achieve financial freedom early in his life, while his peers are still stuck in the rat race.

Clive is currently a director of Curious Minds Childcare Pte Ltd, having been involved in turning around his childcare centre from a very low enrollment (18%) to full enrollment (95% and above). He also co-founded a value investing mastermind group in 2006, involved in researching and investing in companies listed on the Singapore stock exchange. The group evolved to a private investment company, 8 Investment Pte Ltd, where he is a co-founder and a director. He is also a shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett’s holding company.

Clive learnt his investing skills personally from Curtis Montgomery, an American value fund manager based in Singapore, who was the most successful audited value investor in Singapore then. Clive worked for Curtis Montgomery for free during his school holidays and managed to pick up important investment skills.

Clive has since applied his knowledge and experience to picking winning stocks such as Sincere Watch, Unisteel Technologies, Want Want, Hersing etc, giving him between 200% to 600% return on investments, averaging around 20% per annum.

Clive graduated with a bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with honours from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He also studied at the University of Technology, Sydney on an academic exchange program. As part of his personal development path, he has chosen to learn from many mentors, such as Anthony Robbins, T. Harv Eker, Robert Kiyosaki, Stephen Covey, etc from their programs and books.

Because of his background in teaching, he is passionate about sharing his investment knowledge among the public so they can benefit from it. He believes that a person earning even an ordinary wage level can invest wisely and become financially free.
